We had the most amazing stay at the Badger Pod and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better getaway! From the moment we arrived, everything felt so peaceful and perfectly set up for a relaxing break.The privacy was absolutely outstanding - it truly felt like our own little hidden retreat. The hot tub was a real highlight!The pod itself was spotless, cosy, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed.The hosts were fantastic - friendly, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. They made us feel right at home and ensured we had everything we needed for a perfect stay.We will 100% be back very soon. Highly, highly recommend!

Had a lovely stay over Valentine’s weekend! The Badger Pod is private, the hot tub was fab and the outside bar space was great. Would definitely visit again!

Definitely recommend this place, the badger pod especially. Hosts Gillian and Ray are very welcoming and polite and have 2 very cute lovely dogs and Henrietta (the wondering chicken) who likes to say hello .

We had a great 2 nights stay with our 4 month old puppy! Lots of country walks, lots of bbq food and plenty of time to relax in the hot tub. The bar area is a great addition and means there is somewhere nice to relax in the evening if the weather isn’t ideal.

A great location and set up thoroughly enjoyed. Will definitely be back.

Just came home from 2 nights here with our 7 year old and 10 month old and couldn’t recommend this place enough! The pods were so spacious, even with the couch pulled out and travel cot in there was still loads of room. The staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough even did an Easter egg hunt for the kids and brought us some eggs to the pod as we forgot to pack them. We can’t wait to come back ❤️

Amazing place to stay, 100% worth visiting ! Pods were unreal and me and partner had so much fun , this trip was apart of his birthday present and the hosts decorated our room which I thought was a lovely special touch as I didn’t request , thankyou so much !

The badger cabin was absolutely beautiful! The outdoor lounge area was lovely and the pictures do not show how great it is! Very private and cosy. Host was super friendly and helpful!

We had an unbelievable time. The location is fantastic and the property itself was great. Gillian was always on hand to answer any questions we had. The hot tub and fire pit are a great addition. Will definitely be returning.

Our first time staying, in Badger, definitely won't be the last! Owner Ray made gate more secure as it was a very windy night, we had our dog with us and gate had blown open. Great from start to finish. Owners very welcoming and friendly. We can't wait to stay in Badger again in the summer, absolutely stunning place. We had the most chilled autumn break with our 5 year old boys, they absolutely loved the location, hot tub, park and novelty of us all sleeping in a cosy cabin, by far the best part for them was the owners dogs Rupert and Teddy ❤️ The site is such a hidden gem and one we will definitely be returning too!

The owners are so friendly and work none stop, which shows in how well looked after the whole site is!

The cabin was extremely clean, homely feeling and had everything we needed. We especially loved the honesty box and think it adds a lovely touch to the experience.

We had a fantastic stay! Gillian met us on arrival, showed us round and made sure we were happy. The hot tub, the lights and the bar area was such a treat and so well thought out. The area was beautiful and the local farm shop was a short walk away. The lodge was perfectly clean and had enough space to live in for a few days…unfortunately, our next accommodation got cancelled and if we would have know we would have asked to stay on in another lodge because we enjoyed ourselves so much. Durham was a nice city to explore and the cathedral is stunning. Our little dog also loved the stay and the countryside walks. Would highly recommend!

We’ve visited a number of glamping pods over the last few years in various parts of the UK and this has been by far the most picturesque location & well equipped we’ve stayed in.
The owners Ray & Gill have created a wonderful little escape here and everything has been so well thought out on the site and in the pods. Little details that show they have put their heart & soul into the place, thought about making their visitor’s experience just right, the site and pods are immaculate.
We stayed for 4 weekday nights and found they are easy to find around on site too, cleaning / maintaining the grounds so you feel like you can catch them if you need anything - Ray was very helpful with advising on the places we wanted to visit & there’s also a very comprehensive info pack in the pod to help with finding local restaurants too.
The hot tubs are spot on, clean and well maintained too & it was great to be able to preorder wood for the fire pit and everything was there ready when we arrived.
Each pod has its own designated parking and there is a luggage cart to make moving your bags from the car easier.
It’s near to Broom House Farm & Coffee Shop - so handy for getting a good cooked breakfast before heading out for the day.
All in all West Hall is wonderful place for a short break to chill & get away from it all &/or use as a base to explore Durham and the surrounding areas.
We would definitely recommend & will return here if we visit Durham again.

Perfect little getaway. Serene location where you can escape city life but still very much accessible to local attractions. We have just arrived home after a two night stay and it wasn’t long enough! We definitely could’ve stayed longer and will most definitely be back to visit again! The pods are immaculately kept as is the whole site. We loved our stay here at West hall Glamping pods (pheasant pod).

We loved the hot-tub, the fire pit for toasting mallows in the evening, the free welcome basket, meeting new friends in the park, playing fetch with the dogs and of course the Chickens.

The area is very close drive to Beamish (highly recommend) and Durham. Also visited Seaham sea glass beach which is a lovely area.

Stayed for our daughters 18th birthday, had a lovely stay, was so peaceful, site was stunning and so was the pod, the pod was very well equipped everything was there and it was like home form home, Ray and Gill were very attentive nothing was to much trouble, Lexi even made a friend 🐶. We will definitely be back.

I have just been for the weekend to celebrate my Hen Weekend. From start to finish Gill and Ray did everything they could to make our stay perfect. The pods were amazing and had everything we needed and more. We had chilled out vibes in the hot tubs to having a full on 90’s rave in the bell tent on the nighttime.
It’s in a great location not far from shops etc if we did forget something.
We had a playing field to do out Olympic Games 😉 and other activities that we had planned.

All the girls loved it and we can’t wait to come back but I think we might bring our kids next time as it would be great for them too.

Overall I would definitely recommend this place.

Stayed here for 2 nights for my daughter’s 13th birthday, pod was the perfect size for the 4 of us. Modern, Immaculately clean and lovely owners. Kids loved it and want to return already. We had a lovely few days & so peaceful would highly recommend

We’ve just returned home after a fantastic 2 days in the Deer Lodge. The place was immaculately clean, the owners were so friendly (and their dogs) and we just had the best most relaxing time! Even though it rained all during the second night it was so peaceful to lie in the lodge listening to the rain 🥰 I would return in a heartbeat and would recommend it to anyone!

We just had the best weekend stay at West Hall Glamping. Our pod had a gorgeous view over the pond & the valley beyond. Inside, it was sparkling clean with modern appliances and even a smart tv. Outside, the hot tub was lovely and private, and my daughter loved the swings, slide and dogs! We loved the campfire, and waking up to nothing but birdsong. Our puppy loved exploring and meeting the owners pups. We will definitely be back!

What an amazing weekend we have had at West Hall Glamping.
Ray and Gill were perfect hosts. Nothing was a problem.
The site is fab. The wood fired pizzas on the Friday night were the best ones we have ever had.
We hired all 6 pods to celebrate my 50th birthday.
We also hired the bell tent and this was fabulous.
Added bonus were the lovely chickens walking about and there 2 dogs Teddy and Rupert. We already planning our next trip here. We absolutely loved it. Thanks so much for having us 😀

Where to start with this incredible venue…. Exclusively hired for my sisters hen do, there was 18 of us in total. We booked the party bell tent too. From start to finish Ray and Gill were exceptional hosts! Communication on the run up was great and nothing I asked was a bit of bother for them! The pods and hot tubs were immaculate and kitted out with anything and everything you could need for a weekend away. The chickens running free around the site was a very cute a quirky feature we loved it! Well ran family business and you can tell how much westhall glamping site means to them every detail was so well thought out. Made the hen weekend for my sister better than she could have imagined. Thank you so much! We can’t wait to return for a family break with our little ones too!

Just had a weekend getaway to celebrate husband's and granddaughter's birthday. We had 3 pods and they were amazing. All you need is provided in the pods.
We enjoyed this place and so did the 3 dogs. Planning for next getaway already. 😊

What an amazing place. So relaxing and beautiful. The pods are massive and so well put together with some many wonderful little extras. It’s like the pod that just keeps giving with all the helpful bits like coffee, washing up liquid, towels, fire wood and so on.

Fantastic place to go for little get away pods are so cozy underfloor heating fab.. Wildlife amazing ❤️ listening to the owels wile in hottub so peaceful it's unreal Ray nd gillian nd Teddy are amazing Pods so clean beds so cozy we deffo found our perfect little get away we will 100% be back thank you ❤️

we had an amazing time celebrating my daughter's 16th birthday. it has lovely views, the pod were very clean and comfy. Gill and Ray were very helpful and friendly and Teddy was so cute.

Had a fantastic stay at West Hall Glamping. Everything spotless and it’s so peaceful. We saw so much wildlife and had a very relaxing stay. Highly recommend

fabulous pods, well kitted out, bedding and towels provided, as well as other supplies. pods have underfloor heating which is great in colder nights. TV and kitchenette with ample kitchen supplies.

hot tub is fantastic, just right temperature.

Had the best weekend at west hall, the pods are warm and cosy and there’s plenty of room! The bed was so comfy and the shower was great, there’s a nice little welcome pack when you get there and an honesty shop if you run out of anything! The site is brilliant and you feel like you are a million miles from the city! The pods have everything you need with lots of little extras and treats on arrival too! Bed was lovely and comfortable, shower piping hot!

Wow this is a amazing this gem. I can’t believe I’m only 25 minutes drive from home! With the beautiful views. The pod is very clean, well equipped and comfortable. The hot tub was gorgeous. We stayed in the deer pod! My only criticism would be in hot tub we were in we were a little exposed to the wind while others have a fence to help with privacy and protection. This place has so much potential and would definitely stay again

Also a big thank you. My daughter was having dizzy spells and not 100% and they let us stay an extra night!

Teddy the dog is so gentle! Make sure you have a good throwing arm!

Wow, what a find this place is.......
Only 25 mins from home and yet it seems the perfect place to get away from everything.
A last minute end to our festive break, we have managed to have a glamping trip as our family of 5. From the 1st enquiry, to being greeted on site, Ray and Gill made us feel very welcome.
A great space where the kids can explore and enjoy the fresh air.
The pods are very spacious, modern and clean.
We can't wait to go back with friends and experience different times of the year.

Had a wonderful two night stay in these lovely pods they were very clean comfortable and cosy.The owners couldn’t of done any more to help us would highly recommend these lovely pods with excellent hot tubs.

Fantastic two night stay in Hare Pod, with everything you could need provided - just bring food! Comfy beds, power shower, fab hot tub & outside area & welcoming hosts in Ray & Gill! We will return … hopefully when not so windy💨 😂

Second stay at West Hall Glamping and can’t rate it highly enough! First stay was with our children in a group and the second stay with my Husband. The site is quiet and peaceful but with lots of open space for the kids to keep entertained & play safely. The pods are immaculate and they have everything you could possibly need. Recently stayed in the Badger pod after getting lucky with a last minute booking, Jill & Ray where so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Inside was immaculate with a beautiful layout and so much extra provided! Of course the Hot Tub and fire pit area was an amazing touch! Amazing two nights stays. We booked 2 pods as went with family. (4 adults 3 children and 1 dog).
The en-suite pod was immaculate, well equipped, and warm with heated floor. All the pods came with hot tub which added a feeling of luxury.
There’s also fire pit for log burners/ BBQ meant there was no need to go off site if we didn’t want to. Marshmallows for the fire was amazing and a nice touch.
It felt safe at all times of the day and night, kids (8,6,1) love the play area and have such a good time with Ted the dog. Kids absolutely loved it and we’re already planning when we can come back again.
I will also certainly be recommending to friends & family.

Lovely spot, hidden away amongst fields and trees, yet not far from Durham and other lovely local villages. The glamping pods are all new and done up to a high standard. The owners are very nice and welcoming!

Just back from an amazing mini stay, the whole place is stunning our pod is one of six newly built, very clean well equipped and comfortable, there’s outdoor table and chairs, a fire pit/bbq you also have an option of having your own jacuzzi which I’d highly recommend as they are so lovely and relaxing as well as candle lit lanterns. The area has beautiful views with lots of walks and places to visit. Ray and Gill are such nice friendly people who are very welcoming and helpful and we look forward to our return to West Hall Glamping.

We’ve just gotten home from what I can only describe as one of the most wonderful, relaxing, beautiful stay away ever!!
West Hall have managed their site so perfectly there really is nothing extra you need bring.. everything you need is included! Even the kitchen sink! We’ve already made arrangements for our next stay so be assured you will have the best time!
Excellent for couples, children and teenagers! Sitting outside for your morning coffee listening to nature and again at night toasting marshmallows listening to the fire crackle ( marshmallows and extendable skewers also provided!!!)

Cannot recommend this place enough! Me& my bulldog Betty have had the best stay here in in Dear.... so much so we have booked to come back before we have even left! We enjoyed relaxing outside in the sunshine, then chilling by the fire pit on an evening, with the best of views... Lovely family run business, clean& very dog friendly... Everything has been thought through and everything you can imagine you would want is there.

We added a bit of extra luxury by ordering supper from Grazziebox and BBQ packs & breakfast from Broomhouse Farm.

It’s the perfect spot to explore County Durham and I absolutely recommend you give it a go!

Excellent location and very welcoming hosts. We have had a brilliant stay and children had so much fun.
