BEAMISH MUSEUM

Beamish is a world famous open air museum, telling the story of life in North East England during the 1820s, 1900s & 1940s. Explore the 1900s Town and see how families lived and worked in the years leading up to the First World War.

See what’s cooking in the pit cottages, practise your handwriting in the school and visit the chapel. Don’t forget to say hello to the pit ponies in their stables! See this railway station as it looked in Edwardian times with its signal box, waiting rooms and goods yard and spot a variety of wagons on display.
