Take a lovely stroll along Durham river very accessible from most areas of the city with plenty of cafes (and some dog friendly so your best friend can eat with you as well). Great views from the banks of some of the most important parts of the city.

Down a mysterious flight of stairs off the traditional bridge you can stumble across a lovely little walk along the River.
Huge ‘Alice in Wonderland’ style plants line the pathway, and there’s sneaky hidden benches for tired feet. Great opportunity to take photos or birdwatch, or even just take a cup of coffee and have 10 quiet minutes away from the town centre.
